　　1300多年前，一首贞观长歌唱出了中华民族对外交往的最强音，来自世界各地的人们在大唐的土地上交流、贸易；1300年后，现代中国以开放的姿态迎接八方来客，汉语也伴随着中国的壮大而走向了世界，掀起了世界范围的“汉语热”，对于国内的学生来说，因为天时优势，对外汉语不失为一个可全球就业的优势专业！

　　【对外汉语≠外语＋汉语】

　　作为一门交叉应用型学科，它在课程设置上不同于一般大学中的语言文学专业。

　　对外汉语专业要学习3方面的知识：文学、文化和语言。文学包括中国文学和外国文学，文化包括中国文化和外国文化，语言包括汉语、英语，还有语言学各分支学科的知识。

　　对外汉语专业不是简单地等于“外语＋汉语”。它是一门独立的学科，有自己的学科特性。其“全名”是对外汉语教学，即对外国人的汉语教学。由于教学对象是外国人，所以教师在教学过程中不可避免地需要使用外语即学生的母语，来解释一些汉语问题。可以说，外语是对外汉语教学中经常使用的一个重要工具。

　　Master of Education――Chinese Language Education

　　学制：一年

　　学费：HK$160,000 per year is required to cover food, lodging and general living expenses (excluding tuition fees).

　　1.A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification;

　　2.Satisfy the examiners in a qualifying examination, if required.

　　Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language - MA

　　對外漢語教學文學碩士學位

　　学制：1.5 年　

　　学费：HK$3,335 per credit*30＝100050港币

　　入学要求：

　　*A Bachelor's degree from a recognised institution;

　　*Preference will be given to applicants with two years of experience in teaching Chinese as a foreign language;

　　*College level of Chinese proficiency for non-native speaking applicants.

　　MA Chinese(Chinese Language and Literature / Chinese for Professional Purposes / Chinese for Educational Purposes)

　　学制：一年

　　入学要求：

　　*hold a degree from one of the tertiary educational institutions of Hong Kong funded by the University Grants Committee; or

　　*hold a degree of a level equivalent to (a) above from a local or non-local institution recognized for this purpose by the University; or

　　*have satisfied the academic requirements for corporate membership of a professional institution recognized for this purpose by the University; or

　　*have obtained an equivalent qualification, or provided evidence of academic and professional attainments, acceptable for this purpose to the university.
In addition to the University General Entrance Requirements, applicants are expected to meet the following specific Chinese language requirement: 
(a)   have satisfactorily completed at least one tertiary level Chinese course of 30-hour or more which includes substantial written Chinese elements ; or
(b)  have obtained a grade D or above in HKALE AS-level Chinese Language and Culture, or equivalent.
Priority will be given to those with one or more years relevant work experience.

　　【毕业去向有多种选择】

　　对外汉语专业培养的学生，除可在国内外学校从事对外汉语教学与研究工作之外，还可在新闻媒介、国家机关、文化管理和企事业单位从事相关工作。
据了解，对外汉语专业的学生，在毕业后可以有以下几种选择：

　　１、从事对外汉语教学工作——工作稳定，待遇较高。如今全球范围内与“汉语热”相对应的是“汉语教师荒”。来自中国国家对外汉语国际推广领导小组的信息表明，目前国外学习汉语的人数已经超过3000万人。日本、韩国、泰国、菲律宾等周边国家对汉语教师的需求非常迫切；欧洲、北美、澳大利亚、新西兰等西方发达国家也有越来越多的人希望学习汉语。

　　２、从事对外交流工作——近几年不少对外汉语专业的毕业生进入外交部、商务部、文化部从事国际交流与合作。部分毕业生成为外资企业的职员，从事文秘及其他翻译工作。剩下一部分则在新闻媒体、出版单位、文化管理等部门从事新闻采编、翻译、文学创作等工作。

　　３、留学读研——对外汉语专业的学生英语熟练，到国外留学深造，语言有优势。在国外求学，一方面可以直接了解体验对外汉语教学的需求和现状，另一方面可以深入了解外国文化，对今后的发展大有裨益。

　　４、读博或留校——对外汉语专业要求学生掌握扎实的汉语言文字学知识，了解中国的历史地理文化，成为有专业素质的杂家。所以该专业的学生在读博专业的选择上更为自由，外语有优势，出路相对宽广。
