　　一、GMAT还是GRE?
 
　　MIS的申请者几乎都会问这个问题：“我到底是考GMAT还是GRE啊?”如果你有信心、有精力、有能力两项都考并取得可用成绩的话，建议你两项都考。原因很简单，既有GMAT也有GRE的可用成绩的话，我们在学校的选择上可以做到通杀。但只有很少一部分申请者可以达到这样的要求。
 
　　那么对于无法兼顾两项考试的申请者来说，选择就显得比较重要了。GMAT or GRE我们选哪个?首先你要明白你自己的目标到底是什么，自己有什么样的条件。你不妨用SWOT分析法来全面剖析一下自己。第二、在全面分析自己之后，你会很清楚自己到底要往哪个方向发展，研究还是管理?一旦明白这一点之后，就不会再为考什么考试而烦恼。因为，不管哪个学校，只要是商学院下开设了这个专业的都接受GMAT，而在非商学院如信息学院、理工学院下开设的则都接受GRE。当然也有部分学校是两者都接受。
 
　　二、课程设置上区别大吗?
 
　　这里拿两所有代表性学校的课程设置做一下对比：
 
　　第一所：University of Texas-Austin
 
　　我们先来看看开设在School of Information的University of Texas-Austin。在USNEWS2009排名中该校综合排名在47位，专业排名第三，是一所很有竞争力的学校。专业名全称叫Master of information studies，我们来看他的课程设置：

　　总共35门课，有16门技术类课程，课程设置相对比较平均，应该说是比较理想的课程设置。
 
　　三、就业情况怎么样，就业主要是哪些方向?
 
　　从美国的就业情况来看，这个专业的毕业者在人才市场上还是比较抢手的。因为有一定的技术水平，所以就业面还是比较宽的、就业前景还是比较乐观，即使是在金融危机、就业形势严峻的情况下。
 
　　MIS专业的是三个主要就业方向：
 
　　软件开发人员——帮助企业和组织解决问题
　　网络或系统管理员——企业或组织高效运行的保障
　　企业信息管理——在企业中从事信息收集、管理工作
 
　　无论是专业选择还是专业具体方向的选择，只有在明确自己职业目标，才能做出最有明智、最正确、最适合的选择。
